Christmas Shaker Card

Hello all!  This is my first attempt at making a shaker card.  It really was a lot of fun to make.

It was inspired by the picture for the Papertrey Ink October Blog Hop.
The designer paper is by My Mind's Eye.  I stamped the background with sentiments from the Inside & Out: Holiday stamp set.  The ornament was die cut using the Tag Sale #4 die.  The opening was cut using a Spellbinders circle die.
The main sentiment is from the Stylish Sentiments Holiday stamp set.  I rounded the corners and popped it up.  I also used the Scarlet Jewel Satin ribbon tied in a bow, added some bells and greenery from a Martha Stewart punch.  The sequins I purchased from the local craft store.

CAS Christmas Card

Getting a head start in making Christmas cards.  I used Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday #226: Creating with Stripes as my starting point.

Not having any stripe stamps, I looked hard into my PTI stash.  I found a stamp in the Button Boutique that kind of fit the bill.  Unconventional, but you gotta work with what you've got, right?  I made this relatively simple so I can mass produce and mail for the holidays.

Here are the supplies that I used for this card:
Stamps: (All Papertrey Ink) Button Boutique, Stylish Sentiments: Holiday, Countdown Details, Love Lives Here: Holiday
Dies: Wonderful Words: Holiday Die Collection.
Ink: Memento
Paper: Paper Studio Heavy Weight Holiday Cardstock

This card is also for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Clean and Simple Christmas.

PTI MIM #224 Enjoy Life

Hello again!  I love this week's technique called "Two Toned Stamped Sentiments".  Here is my version of the technique:

I stamped the coffee cup images on PTI Vintage Cream cardstock, as well as the sentiment.  I also used Autumn Rose ink and cardstock, upon which I heat embossed the sentiment in white embossing powder.  I then used the Heart Prints die to cut out part of the sentiment.  The stamps used are the Wet Paint stamp set and the Heart-2-Heart #1.  Matted the sentiment section with some kraft cardstock, and then added a flower and a Prima coffee cup embellishment.

Thanks for taking a peek!

PTI MIM #223 Coffee Talk

Hello!  I think this is a fun card to make and receive.  This week on the Papertrey Ink website, the technique is called "Camouflaged Pocket Inserts".  You created a pocket and tag and attach stamped die cuts in an interesting way.  Here's what I came up with:

The main coffee cup image and sentiments are from the Heart-2-Heart #1 stamp set, with matching die.  The tag die I used is Tag Sale #6.  I just snipped off the round end to allow it to fit better in the hand made pocket.

The pocket is hand stamped.  First, I inked the white cardstock with distress ink.  Then I stamped the background with Background Basics: Text Style to mimic the designer paper I used for the tag.  I didn't use a stamping block for that, I just used my fingers to apply pressure at different areas for a worn appearance. The pocket was also stamped with flower images from the Ruby Reprise stamp set.  The designer paper is from Prima's Coffee Break.  I added the eye glasses wood embellishment, also from the same collection, for added fun.  The trim on the bottom finishes off the card.

This card also fulfills the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge this week of using stamps and die cuts on your project.

Papertrey Ink July Blog Hop

I love the inspiration photo for this month's challenge and had some ideas in my head for the card.

The pattern on the butterfly was created with different layers of stamping.  First, I stamped Fancy Flourishes in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink on PTI Autumn Rose cardstock.  Then I stamped the second of a 3 step rose image from The Sweet Life in PTI Fresh Snow ink.  The third of the 3 step rose image was stamped in versamark ink and then heat embossed with Lindy's Stamp Gang Bonjour Butter color embossing powder. The sentiment is from the Iconic Images stamp set stamped on Rustic Cream cardstock.
Here are the supplies I used and the result of the stamping before die cutting:

I used a Memory Box butterfly die to cut out the focal images.  Added some lace trim to the sides.  Layered on Autumn Rose cardstock and the base is Vintage Cream cardstock.

Here is a side view and you can see how I shaped the butterfly before adhering it to the cardstock to give it interest.

Prima July PPP Challenge

I needed to make a wedding card and used Prima's PPP July inspiration photo as a starting point.

The papers are from the Butterfly 6x6 paper pad, as well as the flowers.  The yellow flower is from the Bedtime Stories collection.  I tied some twine in a circle to make it shabby.  I also added a half die cut doily and some die cut leaves.  Tucked in there is a junkyard finding light bulb, as well as some seam binding and some pearl stamen.  The stamps are from Papertrey Ink.

Accucut June Challenge

I wanted to share a project using an Accucut die: Shadow box - Landscape.  The theme for this month's challenge is Summer.  This picture was taken during our trip to Cancun.  I wanted to frame the picture so I can display it and remind me of the fun times we had on that trip.

The papers are by Kaisercraft, as well as the matching die cut images.  I just added some jute ribbon on one of the pages.  The title was stamped with Papertrey Ink stamps.
