Christmas Shaker Card

Hello all!  This is my first attempt at making a shaker card.  It really was a lot of fun to make.

It was inspired by the picture for the Papertrey Ink October Blog Hop.
The designer paper is by My Mind's Eye.  I stamped the background with sentiments from the Inside & Out: Holiday stamp set.  The ornament was die cut using the Tag Sale #4 die.  The opening was cut using a Spellbinders circle die.
The main sentiment is from the Stylish Sentiments Holiday stamp set.  I rounded the corners and popped it up.  I also used the Scarlet Jewel Satin ribbon tied in a bow, added some bells and greenery from a Martha Stewart punch.  The sequins I purchased from the local craft store.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

CAS Christmas Card

Getting a head start in making Christmas cards.  I used Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday #226: Creating with Stripes as my starting point.

Not having any stripe stamps, I looked hard into my PTI stash.  I found a stamp in the Button Boutique that kind of fit the bill.  Unconventional, but you gotta work with what you've got, right?  I made this relatively simple so I can mass produce and mail for the holidays.

Here are the supplies that I used for this card:
Stamps: (All Papertrey Ink) Button Boutique, Stylish Sentiments: Holiday, Countdown Details, Love Lives Here: Holiday
Dies: Wonderful Words: Holiday Die Collection.
Ink: Memento
Paper: Paper Studio Heavy Weight Holiday Cardstock

This card is also for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Clean and Simple Christmas.

PTI MIM #224 Enjoy Life

Hello again!  I love this week's technique called "Two Toned Stamped Sentiments".  Here is my version of the technique:

I stamped the coffee cup images on PTI Vintage Cream cardstock, as well as the sentiment.  I also used Autumn Rose ink and cardstock, upon which I heat embossed the sentiment in white embossing powder.  I then used the Heart Prints die to cut out part of the sentiment.  The stamps used are the Wet Paint stamp set and the Heart-2-Heart #1.  Matted the sentiment section with some kraft cardstock, and then added a flower and a Prima coffee cup embellishment.

Thanks for taking a peek!

PTI MIM #223 Coffee Talk

Hello!  I think this is a fun card to make and receive.  This week on the Papertrey Ink website, the technique is called "Camouflaged Pocket Inserts".  You created a pocket and tag and attach stamped die cuts in an interesting way.  Here's what I came up with:

The main coffee cup image and sentiments are from the Heart-2-Heart #1 stamp set, with matching die.  The tag die I used is Tag Sale #6.  I just snipped off the round end to allow it to fit better in the hand made pocket.

The pocket is hand stamped.  First, I inked the white cardstock with distress ink.  Then I stamped the background with Background Basics: Text Style to mimic the designer paper I used for the tag.  I didn't use a stamping block for that, I just used my fingers to apply pressure at different areas for a worn appearance. The pocket was also stamped with flower images from the Ruby Reprise stamp set.  The designer paper is from Prima's Coffee Break.  I added the eye glasses wood embellishment, also from the same collection, for added fun.  The trim on the bottom finishes off the card.

This card also fulfills the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge this week of using stamps and die cuts on your project.

Papertrey Ink July Blog Hop

I love the inspiration photo for this month's challenge and had some ideas in my head for the card.

The pattern on the butterfly was created with different layers of stamping.  First, I stamped Fancy Flourishes in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink on PTI Autumn Rose cardstock.  Then I stamped the second of a 3 step rose image from The Sweet Life in PTI Fresh Snow ink.  The third of the 3 step rose image was stamped in versamark ink and then heat embossed with Lindy's Stamp Gang Bonjour Butter color embossing powder. The sentiment is from the Iconic Images stamp set stamped on Rustic Cream cardstock.
Here are the supplies I used and the result of the stamping before die cutting:

I used a Memory Box butterfly die to cut out the focal images.  Added some lace trim to the sides.  Layered on Autumn Rose cardstock and the base is Vintage Cream cardstock.

Here is a side view and you can see how I shaped the butterfly before adhering it to the cardstock to give it interest.

Prima July PPP Challenge

I needed to make a wedding card and used Prima's PPP July inspiration photo as a starting point.

The papers are from the Butterfly 6x6 paper pad, as well as the flowers.  The yellow flower is from the Bedtime Stories collection.  I tied some twine in a circle to make it shabby.  I also added a half die cut doily and some die cut leaves.  Tucked in there is a junkyard finding light bulb, as well as some seam binding and some pearl stamen.  The stamps are from Papertrey Ink.

Here is the inspiration photo:

Accucut June Challenge

I wanted to share a project using an Accucut die: Shadow box - Landscape.  The theme for this month's challenge is Summer.  This picture was taken during our trip to Cancun.  I wanted to frame the picture so I can display it and remind me of the fun times we had on that trip.

The papers are by Kaisercraft, as well as the matching die cut images.  I just added some jute ribbon on one of the pages.  The title was stamped with Papertrey Ink stamps.

PTI April Blog Hop

Hello!  Here is a card I made for the Papertrey Ink April Blog Hop.

The card was based on this picture for inspiration:

The navy cardstock is from Archivers.  For the background, I used the Harlequin cover plate die.  The stamps I used are The Sweet Life, Mat Stack 1 collection, and Keep It Simple: Thank You set.  The base of the card is Papertrey Ink Sweet Blush cardstock.

I also want to share a video of my recent Papertrey Ink haul.  I also include some cards I created with the stamps and dies I purchased.

Happy Birthday SSS

I made a card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Happy Birthday.

I love stamping on pattern paper.  The designer paper is from Prima's Stationer's Desk.  I stamped PTI's Polka Dot Basics II on the left panel.  On the grey paper, I stamped PTI's Love Birds, and an image from the Boutique Borders: Sympathy stamp set. The sentiment is from the Say it in Style set and is heat embossed in black.  Layered some papers from Prima and added a brad in the corner.

Sending Best Wishes

Hello again!  I'm having so much fun stamping and making cards this weekend.  This card was made for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge of using pastel colors.  It helps think of spring, even though it was near freezing this morning.  At least the sun is shining with clear skies!

The base of the card is Papertrey Ink Kraft cardstock.  From my recent haul, I used the Phrase Play #6 Mini stamp set and matching die.  The flower image and coordinating die is from the Pretty Peonies stamp set, and it is on dimensionals.  The designer paper is Prima.  Added some Martha Stewart bakers twine and some flat back pearls to finish the card.

Have a Happy Easter and thanks for stopping by!

Love You MIM #207

Hello!  I wanted to try this week's Make It Monday technique of double partial die cutting.

The dies I used are PTI Hearts Print die collection and Limitless Layers 2 1/4" Hearts die collection.
The Autumn Rose cardstock was stamped with Background Basics: Sheet Music in Autumn Rose ink.  The sentiment is from the Say It With Style stamp set, stamped in versamark and heat embossed in black.  I made some crinkled black seam binding by spraying it with Prima's Antique Gold bloom spray, scrunched and heat set it, and tied it in a bow. The designer paper is by Prima.

Such a cool technique! Thanks for stopping by!

Dreams

I found another challenge blog to play along with.  This card was made for the Less is More challenge this week of combining previous challenges.

Challenge #174: use more than 1 stamp.  I used 3 stamps from Papertrey Ink's For the Graduate stamp set.
Challenge #173: use a die cut.  I used Papertrey Ink's Mat Stack 1 die that coordinates with this set.
Challenge #170: 3 colors.  I used Memento Ink colors Tuxedo Black, Espresso Truffle, and Gray Flannel.

The background paper is also by Papertrey Ink, from their Bitty Dot Basics paper pad.  Then finished it off with 3 bling in the corner.

This was a fun challenge to participate in.  Thanks for stopping by!

Coffee Time

Just a fun card today.  I wanted to ink up the coffee cup images on Papertrey Ink's Heart 2 Heart #1 stamp set and coordinating die.  I thought it would go perfect with Prima's Coffee Break paper collection.

Prima's chalk ink add colors to the cups.  A PTI doily die anchors the images, and lace is added for texture.  I'm submitting this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

Stamping Mania

For my card today, I did a lot of stamping, no designer paper here.  (No sun today, so I had to take the picture indoors.)

The challenge for Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday #206 was to create a card using 3 mixed stamped patterns.  For the pink striped pattern, I used a 3 inch stripe stamp from the Mat Stack 1 collection.  The next pattern uses a single polka dot from the Polka Dot Basics set, stamped in green atop a text stamp. The third, bigger pattern uses stamps from the Rosie Posie stamp set.  The sentiment is from the Wonderful Words: Birthday Mini stamp set.  The edges were inked with Distress Inks.

I'm also submitting this card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: One Stamp, Many Ways, using the stamps to create a background.

Thanks so much for taking a peek!

Hello Friend Card

It's a rainy, windy day today and my card fell over before taking a picture, so please excuse the rain stain on the card.  I wanted to take part in the Papertrey Ink March Blog Hop.  This card is easy to make, the only time consuming part is ruffling the seam binding on the bottom.

Inspiration came from this picture:

Supplies I used:

Stamps: Rosie Posie, Damask Design, Wet Paint
Paper: Aqua Mist Cardstock, Bitty Dot Basics Pattern Paper
Die: Rosie Posie die set

Easter Card for MIM #205

Hello there!  When I read Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday this week, I wanted to try it out. I decided to make an Easter card using some new supplies I received in a recent haul.

I used the negative space left over of the Egg die as a mask as I did my stamping.  The stamped images are from the Hippity Hoppity Mini stamp set.  And before removing the mask, I lightly inked the edge with a distress ink to give the egg shape definition.  The mini flower and heart image are from other PTI stamp sets.

The image was stamped on Tag Sale #3 die cut.  The felt flower was die cut from the Heart to Heart #7 die.  The button is from the Vintage Buttons set.  The paper collection is from Simple Stories and added string and lace trim to complete the card.

I love this technique and plan to use it on more cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Botanical Tea Set

Hello!  I wanted to play around with the Graphic 45 Botanical Tea collection and created a set containing a card, tag pocket, and matchbook to hold a tea bag.

The flowers and seam binding I stained with Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays.  The stamp set I used is Papertrey Ink's Tea for Two.  I used the Graphic 45 Kraft Tags Large and folded it to create a pocket to hold a gift card.  The matchbook flips open to reveal a glassine bag to hold a tea bag.  Added a paper doily and some flat back pearls to finish it off.

Thanks for taking a peek.
